Civil Rights

Equality is important with civil rights because in the Declaration of Independence it says that all men are created equal. That all men are born with the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The civil rights is important to everyone does not matter the color, sex, or race. The right that separates human from animal and objects. No matter how poor, disabled, color, sex, race, and religion all people are allowed to be happy become some one important and most important everyone has the right to live.

The significance of Obama as our president now is that just as the Declaration of Independence says all men are created equal and have the same rights, Obama proved that by becoming the first black president. It took many years but eventually it happened a black man has made it to the presidency and has become a role model to many others to be someone important in this country. But unfortunantly racism is not over employers would rather give a white person a job over a black person even when their background and working experience is almost the same. We have not acheive equality completly yet, there is still some discrimination in this country. racism is not as bad as it was before but now they use it in minor things such as jobs and chances to sucseed in life. theres a 25% of black people live below poverty lines compared to a 8% of whites.

Obama as president is a huge step to stop segragation in thins country a black president is da biggest step there is. But its not gonna happen so sudently its gonna take time and alot of pasience. Obamas experience is not gonna be the same for everyone else, there is many blacks out there that are equally talented and smart but never get the chance to express themselfs. Obama is a living proof that things can change its just more work.
